About this book
This volume provides comprehensive and authoritative coverage of all the main areas linked to geomagnetic field observation, from instrumentation to methodology, on ground or near-Earth. Efforts are also focused on a 21st century e-Science approach to open access to all geomagnetic data, but also to the data preservation, data discovery, data rescue, and capacity building. Finally, modeling magnetic fields with different internal origins, with their variation in space and time, is an attempt to draw together into one place the traditional work in producing models as IGRF or describing the magnetic anomalies.

Great for the occasional underwater shooter

This case was a birthday gift and I must admit to some trepidation when submerging a Canon 5D body and 24-105 lens for the first time. Of course, the instructions advise testing the case first, which I did in the bathtub. It was bone dry inside, so I took the plunge with my camera inside. Here are my first underwater shots taken while snorkeling in the Crystal River of Florida: [...]I set the camera up for "dummy mode" so that I wouldn't have to fiddle with controls. The shutter release was easy to operate. I could not get the zoom ring to turn, but it didn't really matter because wide angle was best for underwater shots anyway. A zoom lens left at wide angle, or a wide angle prime lens would be best. The case seals at two points. A UV coated polycarbonate lens screws on to the case over the camera lens. At the top, you seal the case like a zip-lock baggie, then fold a flap over several times like a dry bag. This seals with velcro. Finally, a large... 4/5 Gary Jean (Alexandria, Virginia) - See all my reviews, January 8, 2009

You get what you pay for...

Hard shell cases cost thousands of dollars but give you full control. This bag is a little more than a Benjamin, and gives you almost no control over the camera. It is hard to look through the viewfinder and virtually impossible to change any settings. So you'll have to set the camera to P-mode (or "automatic") and hope for the best. Even then you'll have to press the glass window against the lens to prevent vignetting. Dicapac is suggesting the existence of lens adapter rings (which would fix the position of the glass window against the front element) but I have not seen those yet.So, despite all the shortcomings, four stars? Yes, because for a very small amount this bag WILL allow you to use your SLR under water. Although rated for something like 20' I would not try it out that deep, but I felt perfectly safe using it in a pool. Once the sealing is properly closed the camera is perfectly safe and I sense that the recommendation in the manual to test the bag in a... 4/5 Bart Willems (Elmwood Park, New Jersey United States) - See all my reviews, September 2, 2008

    DiCAPac review

Considering that a "real" underwater housing for my DSLR costs about $1,300 (which is about what my camera cost), this turned out to be the only real option if I wanted to take pictures underwater with my camera. And since underwater photography is not my profession, buying a real houseing is NOT going to happen anytime soon.I purchased the DiCAPac WPS10 for our vacation to Maui this past May (2010) and I honestly have to say that being able to take pictures underwater was one of the funnest things that I did on our vacation! The pictures came out exceptionally well. I was somewhat surprised. And the "case" worked great (you will have adjust your expectations). I had no problems at all with the "case" sealing. The company stresses to make sure and test it before putting your expensive DSLR into it and taking it underwater and I would heed their advice. The "ziplock" type primary seal does not seem very good... at all. However, you roll the bag around the seal about four or five... 4/5 Stephen Peralta - See all my reviews, June 14, 2010

0 3/5 G3 (San Jose CA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Zonman® Dslr SLR Camera Waterproof Underwater Housing Case Pouch Dry Bag for Canon Nikon (Transparent) (Electronics) Lots of problems with this unit.Pros: Seals very simply, reliably, and well.CONs:It's way too big for my Nikon V2, but it probably fits the larger SLR's better. The finger pouches are slender, hard to get in and out of.The finger pouches for lens control are too close together and don't have enough movement. There is no way to fix the front window into position on the front of the camera. As a result, it keeps slipping and tilting around, getting into view most of the time.Try it for your larger SLR, but be sure you keep the packaging to return it. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 31, 2014

    Trick Piece of Kit

I purchased one of the these for my daughter for underwater iPhone photography. While heavily discounted ($35 as of this writing), it arrived feeling like a $99 purchase. The housing is extremely well built. This is not some zip loc bag gimmick. It is rugged and industrial. It feels like something that you could take on a dive. Overkill for a child? Actually, being so rugged, it's just about perfect for a child. When we first unpacked it, the vacuum in the case made it extremely difficult to open. It required a lot of effort. Once past that, it was smooth sailing. The case comes with o-ring grease and replacement spacers in case you lose one. The latch mechanism is a convincing over center affair.Taking pictures and video us quite easy using the provided piston buttons. You cannot use the touch screen while the phone is in the case. This enclosure cost my son his iphone 5C

I bought this case and it arrived on time for me to take it with me on a diving vacation in the Florida Keys. It tested fine according to the instructions under 25 cm of water (5 minutes, two tests) - both in the bath. On the third test, I put my son's iphone 5C into the case and it also tested fine. Feeling very confident, and trusting the seller's description of "rated to 130 feet" I set out with my 14 year old son to our Dive point on Duck Key. On a clear and beautiful morning, we arrived at the reef to begin our dive. The plan was to go down to the shallow floor of the reef (20 feet - twenty feet), and then start shooting pictures and videos directly with his iphone 5c so we could easily and directly transfer the pictures and images across to my computer. We were in a group of 8, and were using "snuba" lines fed from surface air in a raft launched from the boat. We double checked everything, made sure the seal was tight and the iphone was snug and in position. Excellent value for the money!

Still haven't taken this in deep water yet, but I want to clear up a few details for folks who are considering purchasing this case:1) It's a bargain. it's $1000 cheaper than the next closest thing your going to get.2) ALL functions are NOT available with this case. There is no way to use the front roller button to change settings that require that (which is anything manual, or any changes in Av or Tv mode). The instructions make it clear, you are to preset your settings before inserting the camera in the case.3) flash works very well. those 2 ports on the front focus the flash nicely. there is a button on the left side of the case that pops the built in flash. They look like they are really designed to support an off camera flash via an optical cable.4) there is a cold shoe mount, designed to provide a mount point for an external flash. finding a 'cheap' underwater flash with an optical slave would be nice.5) there are holes on the bottom to mount... 4/5 Paul A Flores - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Excellent product at an amazing price

I bought this MegaGear case for my new Canon G15, given the positive reviews and great price. After 10 days/24 dives in Ambon, Indonesia, I am happy to report that this product is excellent. I was able to access all the controls on the G15 except for the side wheel, which wasn't a huge problem. The case is solidly manufactured and fits the camera perfectly. I experienced none of the fogging mentioned in another review. Everything worked perfectly. I notice that the price has dropped from $199.99 to $179.99, so it's an even better deal than when I bought it!Perhaps the #1 deciding factor for me was the inclusion of the 67mm threads on the camera barrel. This allows the user to screw on underwater closeup (wet) lenses for macro photography. This is a very puzzling and irritating omission from the Canon branded cases. A Canon case would require the purchase of an additional lens adaptor, costing almost $70. GOPRO Dive Housing - Great Start!

I'm new to GOPRO cameras, but I'm not new to diving. Anyone who has looked for an affordable solution to underwater video recording has most likely realized that the options are VERY slim! Needless to say this was my attraction to the Hero 2. The only problem.... the BLUR!There are a multitude of products to fix the blur, but this is the first product offered by GOPRO, and I must say it is an amazing product. The case functions just like the original, with an identical latching mechanism. The difference in the flat front lens. It gives amazing quality and allow the camera to give sharp focus above or below the water. Note: The new lens cuts off about half of the LCD display, but you can still see most of it.My only complaint is that GOPRO hasn't released any clip on filters; however, I doubt it will be long before they do. You can take off the lens cover with a 6 point screwdriver and drop your own gel filters in there if you'd like, but I'm not sure if this... 4/5 J. Cooper (USA) - See all my reviews, June 25, 2012

Customer Video Review Length:: 0:15 MinsWe just finished our first ocean dive trip and thanks to this dive housing really have some great video and pictures to share and enjoy. This thing works great, we never had any problems and find the pictures and videos to be very realistic and accurate representations of what we saw and also heard. I am surprised that it picked up the sound as well as it did. You can hear boat motors as they pass near, and us talking on the surface and so forth. Even at 30' if I talked it would record it. When sharing the videos with family and friends we have a very accurate recording of what it both looked and sounded like.I will upload a video taken with the GoPro Hero2 and this housing during a dive at Catalina Island 26 miles off the California coast. The video was shot in about 25' of water at a place called Ship Rock at Twin Harbors.
