About this book
This volume provides comprehensive and authoritative coverage of all the main areas linked to geomagnetic field observation, from instrumentation to methodology, on ground or near-Earth. Efforts are also focused on a 21st century e-Science approach to open access to all geomagnetic data, but also to the data preservation, data discovery, data rescue, and capacity building. Finally, modeling magnetic fields with different internal origins, with their variation in space and time, is an attempt to draw together into one place the traditional work in producing models as IGRF or describing the magnetic anomalies.

Great protection and control for Canon G-16

Take Your Canon G16 without fear to places where you would ordinarily risk serious damage to your somewhat expensive camera. It's not just for use under water but would be great at that also. This housing gives you complete control of all the buttons on the back and top of your G16 unlike the limited control of Canon's own housing. You can even manipulate all menu settings with ease. I used this housing fishing 15 miles out in the Gulf with Captain Marvel out of Naples, FL. Also on several beaches in the Naples area and on a canoe trip through the mangrove estuary at Barefoot Beach Park in Bonita Springs. The photos are beautiful with no distortion or color shift from the housing and I could always select exactly the settings I wanted and even review and delete unwanted photos with ease all while paddling a canoe. With the housing on, the camera puts a fair amount of strain on your neck (you can use the strap that comes with the G16). So I strongly recommend you purchase a Leupold... 5/5 Jack McEwen (Havertown, PA USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Good so far. Just keep swimming?

0 4/5 Bob Smith "Bob" - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Fantasea Line FG16 Underwater Housing for Canon PowerShot G16 Digital Camera (Camera) Have owned this camera case for a few months now. Have taken it to 100ft or so. No leaks, seals are in good condition and the package comes with a spare seal and additional grease. It appears very similar to the OEM waterproof case, but it adds a few extra things (fiber optic flash cover, side cover lock, extra seal, flash lock, and hand strap). The electronic moisture sensor is gimmicky (if it's going off, the camera is ruined anyway).Other than a casting line that looks like a crack, the unit works well and I'm satisfied with it so far.I will update this review as I continue to use it and put it through it's paces.Next up: Using the case with an external wet fisheye lens and possibly an external strobe/fill light.Stay tuned! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? , November 13, 2014

0 5/5 Ana S. (Raleigh, NC United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Fantasea Line FG16 Underwater Housing for Canon PowerShot G16 Digital Camera (Camera) The case fits the camera perfectly, is easy to handle, has buttons for all the camera controls, unlike the Canon case, which does not. It is fairly easy to hold, and connected to external flash without any problems with optic cables working well. I used it for snorkeling and scuba diving, and the photos are amazing. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? , October 18, 2014

    Great product, highly recommended

I bought this from Sport Chalet along with the red filter for a trip to Maui and was very satisfied. The options I had for underwater photography were: underwater camera: digital or disposable, underwater housing for regular camera, or housing for your smartphone. I went with a phone housing because of the convenience. Underwater cameras seem to be very blurry and disposable cameras sometimes don't develop at all. I have a digital camera but did not want to risk damaging it and it would be inconvenient to swim with. Although the go pro takes great photos, I like to be able to view my photos directly and see that my images are coming out. After searching and reading about other underwater housings for iPhone I decided to go with the Watershot. I tested it 3 times by placing tissue paper inside the case and placing it in my bathtub for about an hour each time. (I also placed something heavy on top so that the camera is submerged at the bottom) I had no leaks and no issues... 5/5 ch - See all my reviews This review is from: Watershot Underwater Housing for iPhone 5/5S (Sports) I bought this from Sport Chalet along with the red filter for a trip to Maui and was very satisfied. This review is from: Watershot Underwater Housing for iPhone 5/5S, Black (Camera) I purchased this for one of my trips to Kauai and wanted underwater pictures from snorkeling and diving trips. There was not one of these for an IPhone 5 on the Island. It came overnight and I have captured some awesome shots of sea turtles, tropical fish and coral. It has worked as well as expected and people can't believe that my photos were taken with an I Phone. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? , December 19, 2013

This review is from: EACHSHOT 40M Waterproof Underwater Camera Housing Case Bag for Sony A6000 Camera (Electronics) This housing has worked very well so far. Absolutely no problems. I've only taken it down to about 50 feet, so can't judge how well it will perform below that. Since I'm just an occasional diver, and more frequent snorkeler, this housing is perfect for me. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? , April 21, 2015

    Excellent value for the money!

Still haven't taken this in deep water yet, but I want to clear up a few details for folks who are considering purchasing this case:1) It's a bargain. it's $1000 cheaper than the next closest thing your going to get.2) ALL functions are NOT available with this case. There is no way to use the front roller button to change settings that require that (which is anything manual, or any changes in Av or Tv mode). The instructions make it clear, you are to preset your settings before inserting the camera in the case.3) flash works very well. those 2 ports on the front focus the flash nicely. there is a button on the left side of the case that pops the built in flash. They look like they are really designed to support an off camera flash via an optical cable.4) there is a cold shoe mount, designed to provide a mount point for an external flash. finding a 'cheap' underwater flash with an optical slave would be nice.5) there are holes on the bottom to mount... 4/5 Paul A Flores - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) 0 5/5 upthink - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Polaroid SLR Dive Rated Waterproof Underwater Housing Case For The Canon T3I with a 18-55mm Lens (Electronics) Impressive build quality for the price. All of the external buttons contact the camera body and function with ease. There is only one issue with camera control. The front scroll wheel does not have external control to allow manual configuration. However, it's an easy problem to solve if you're not shooting auto. Pair this housing with your 600D running Magic Lantern and you gain full control over manual exposures via the rear buttons. Dual 1/4 20 threads work well with a long (100mm plus) arca swiss style QR plate for tripod support. Includes strap, extra gasket and grease. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? , November 10, 2014

If you like your camera, don't buy this housing!

Be wary of the positive reviews associated with this item. The price seemed too good to be true, but I was lured in by the positive reviews. Big mistake. On the first dive with this housing, it leaked. This has ruined $1000 worth of camera equipment. The build quality of the housing is very poor. When I showed it to the camera shop at the resort I was diving, the manager quickly noticed imperfections in the manufacture of the housing. This included ridges in the plastic where the housing closes, rubber bumpers that fell off, and also had stray rubber hanging off of it.The housing came with no instructions.I thought the Polaroid name meant that it was a quality product. That is not the case. There appears to be 0 warranty with the product.Even if you get one that doesn't leak, you should also know that the case is very positively buoyant. You'll be trying to hold the camera down the whole time you use it. Very... 1/5 Zaphod - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Value for money!

This is the cheapest housing available for the PM1, with decent quality. Some reviewer pointed out that the internal flash is blocked by the port, and are right. But, these housings, and most other housings for system cameras requires an external strobe to get the most out of your photos....and, a shade for the internal flash is included in the box.(internal flash is required for syncing the strobe via TTL).The port is mainly for the 14-42mm kit lens, but will also accomodate the 60mm Macro, and the 9-18mm. To get the same angle as above water for the 9-18, you will need a dome port from ZEN, the WA-100 PEN. The housing is excellent as a "cheap" solution for getting into underwater photography(The Nauticam is another class, more expensive, but with more options and made of aluminium). It is absolutely possible to get good pic's without a strobe, in clear water, and not too deep. Great housing if you get some good advice with it...

0 4/5 Bill Burnett (London) - See all my reviews This review is from: PT-EP06 Underwater Housing For E-PM1 Digital Camera (Electronics) This is a great housing for the money - I can understand the frustration of the people who gave it poor reviews because they can't use the internal flash, but that's more a consequence of the poor advice they received than a problem with this housing. The reality is that using built in flash for underwater photography is just a recipe for disappointment as it generates so much backscatter. If you're serious about good underwater images you need a decent external strobe and arm. If you buy this housing, you're saving about 50% of the cost of that strobe with very little loss of functionality compared with a housing that costs 2-3x as much. If you don't want to be messing about with tons of expensive strobes and things, buy a go pro and accept the limitations of shooting with ambient light and a pink filter. If you want to start taking really good pictures this housing is a great route in but expect to pay more for accessory bits and pieces. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? , October 22, 2014
