About this book
This volume provides comprehensive and authoritative coverage of all the main areas linked to geomagnetic field observation, from instrumentation to methodology, on ground or near-Earth. Efforts are also focused on a 21st century e-Science approach to open access to all geomagnetic data, but also to the data preservation, data discovery, data rescue, and capacity building. Finally, modeling magnetic fields with different internal origins, with their variation in space and time, is an attempt to draw together into one place the traditional work in producing models as IGRF or describing the magnetic anomalies.

Horrible image quality, do not buy this junk.

0 1/5 Joe Bowers - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Tteoobl Dslr SLR Camera Waterproof Underwater Housing Case Pouch Dry Bag for Canon Nikon (Transparent) (Electronics) This is absolute garbage. Photos are super blurry and completely unusable. See my sample photo of the shaving cream and remote control. You can see the comparison with and without the housing. This just completely destroys the image quality. You might as well buy a cheap underwater disposable camera instead, as any quality advantage your nice DLSR gives you is going to be completely negated with this piece of junk. 0, May 27, 2015

    Okay for what it is

It's good for what it is. If you need your camera sealed because of a wet or toxic environment this does the job. It's easy to put your camera in and seal it and it is waterproof. So it meets all of the requirements that I purchased it for. I took this on a trip because it's packable and inexpensive. I used it for about 30 minutes in the rain and got too frustrated with trying to manipulate my camera settings. I took the camera out, draped a poncho over it and was much happier. I guess this could be great if you only shoot in full auto, P or A but if you need to actually control what your camera is doing, save your pennies and buy a proper water housing.Update: I took this on one more trip with me and tried some beach shots in shallow water and some shots while snorkeling over 30 to 60 foot deep reefs. The Good: 1) Still waterproof so no problems there 2) I followed my own advice and set the camera to full auto. The shots turned out just fine but will need some... 3/5 Kevin Wenning - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Excellent product at an amazing price

I bought this MegaGear case for my new Canon G15, given the positive reviews and great price. After 10 days/24 dives in Ambon, Indonesia, I am happy to report that this product is excellent. I was able to access all the controls on the G15 except for the side wheel, which wasn't a huge problem. The case is solidly manufactured and fits the camera perfectly. I experienced none of the fogging mentioned in another review. Everything worked perfectly. I notice that the price has dropped from $199.99 to $179.99, so it's an even better deal than when I bought it!Perhaps the #1 deciding factor for me was the inclusion of the 67mm threads on the camera barrel. This allows the user to screw on underwater closeup (wet) lenses for macro photography. This is a very puzzling and irritating omission from the Canon branded cases. A Canon case would require the purchase of an additional lens adaptor, costing almost $70. On the MegaGear case, the threads are part of a metal plate at the... 5/5 pdub (chicago, il) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) High value at affordable price

Got the 3 day shipping on schedule. Someone dropped the housing with camera on the deck after the first dive. I was not happy, especially about the loud bang on as it made contact on deck. Fortunately there are no visible cracks and the housing has held up well so far. It is rated to 130ft but I did a Blue Hole dive to 150ft and it held up well and was still working great. The housing is positively buoyant making it annoying at times but the real drawback is constant fogging at the surface due to the tropical humid air, once It was fogged up throughout the dive but I suppose it was mostly my error than a defect. I also noticed the flash can only be opened at the surface, once at depth it does not make contact with the release button and you will have to dive without the camera's built in flash activated. I have done over 100 dives with it so far and will keep on doing more.I can't figure out how to post pictures taken with this housing so here are some links. Excellent value for the money!

Still haven't taken this in deep water yet, but I want to clear up a few details for folks who are considering purchasing this case:1) It's a bargain. it's $1000 cheaper than the next closest thing your going to get.2) ALL functions are NOT available with this case. There is no way to use the front roller button to change settings that require that (which is anything manual, or any changes in Av or Tv mode). The instructions make it clear, you are to preset your settings before inserting the camera in the case.3) flash works very well. those 2 ports on the front focus the flash nicely. there is a button on the left side of the case that pops the built in flash. They look like they are really designed to support an off camera flash via an optical cable.4) there is a cold shoe mount, designed to provide a mount point for an external flash. finding a 'cheap' underwater flash with an optical slave would be nice.5) there are holes on the bottom to mount... 4/5 Paul A Flores - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) 0 5/5 upthink - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Polaroid SLR Dive Rated Waterproof Underwater Housing Case For The Canon T3I with a 18-55mm Lens (Electronics) Impressive build quality for the price. All of the external buttons contact the camera body and function with ease. There is only one issue with camera control. The front scroll wheel does not have external control to allow manual configuration. However, it's an easy problem to solve if you're not shooting auto. Pair this housing with your 600D running Magic Lantern and you gain full control over manual exposures via the rear buttons. Dual 1/4 20 threads work well with a long (100mm plus) arca swiss style QR plate for tripod support. Includes strap, extra gasket and grease. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? , November 10, 2014

If you like your camera, don't buy this housing!

Be wary of the positive reviews associated with this item. The price seemed too good to be true, but I was lured in by the positive reviews. Big mistake. On the first dive with this housing, it leaked. This has ruined $1000 worth of camera equipment. The build quality of the housing is very poor. When I showed it to the camera shop at the resort I was diving, the manager quickly noticed imperfections in the manufacture of the housing. This included ridges in the plastic where the housing closes, rubber bumpers that fell off, and also had stray rubber hanging off of it.The housing came with no instructions.I thought the Polaroid name meant that it was a quality product. That is not the case. There appears to be 0 warranty with the product.Even if you get one that doesn't leak, you should also know that the case is very positively buoyant. You'll be trying to hold the camera down the whole time you use it. Very... 1/5 Zaphod - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great for the occasional underwater shooter

This case was a birthday gift and I must admit to some trepidation when submerging a Canon 5D body and 24-105 lens for the first time. Of course, the instructions advise testing the case first, which I did in the bathtub. It was bone dry inside, so I took the plunge with my camera inside. Here are my first underwater shots taken while snorkeling in the Crystal River of Florida: [...]I set the camera up for "dummy mode" so that I wouldn't have to fiddle with controls. The shutter release was easy to operate. I could not get the zoom ring to turn, but it didn't really matter because wide angle was best for underwater shots anyway. A zoom lens left at wide angle, or a wide angle prime lens would be best. The case seals at two points. A UV coated polycarbonate lens screws on to the case over the camera lens. At the top, you seal the case like a zip-lock baggie, then fold a flap over several times like a dry bag. This seals with velcro. Overall Worth It

Overall I was happy with this purchase, as it was a good price for what you are getting. I was happy with the good shots I got underwater and it absolutely protected my camera from the water and other elements. The furthest I went down was 10 feet and I used the casing about 4 times in total during a snorkeling trip.A few drawbacks to this product were:-Too dificult to use a zoom lens underwater. There are holes for your fingers to rotate the lens but it is too hard to do while you are underwater and even if you zoom out the pressure seems to always push the lens back to its lowest zoom. I was using a 70-300mm lens.-If you plan to use flash underwater you really have to figure out the right amount of air in the bag and where the flash will have room to actually get light out of the bag. Its tricky.-Nothing mentions it in any manual, but it is a good idea to use an antifog spray for the housing's UV filter. It will get fogged up imediately without it... 3/5 Joe (NYC, NY) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dicapac USA Inc. You get what you pay for...

Hard shell cases cost thousands of dollars but give you full control. This bag is a little more than a Benjamin, and gives you almost no control over the camera. It is hard to look through the viewfinder and virtually impossible to change any settings. So you'll have to set the camera to P-mode (or "automatic") and hope for the best. Even then you'll have to press the glass window against the lens to prevent vignetting. Dicapac is suggesting the existence of lens adapter rings (which would fix the position of the glass window against the front element) but I have not seen those yet.So, despite all the shortcomings, four stars? Yes, because for a very small amount this bag WILL allow you to use your SLR under water. Although rated for something like 20' I would not try it out that deep, but I felt perfectly safe using it in a pool. Once the sealing is properly closed the camera is perfectly safe and I sense that the recommendation in the manual to test the bag in a... 4/5 Bart Willems (Elmwood Park, New Jersey United States) - See all my reviews, September 2, 2008

But that's only part of the story. I bought this product from a third party (not Amazon - I didn't know they had it). And I could not unscrew the lens port to put a different sizr on. I called the place where I bought it from and they had no clue. I then emailed Watershot and explained my problem. They gave some advice (e.g. Running it under warm water, etc.). Well nothing worked, and I was leaving for Mexico in less then a week and really wanted a functional lens port. So they FedExed me a new one!! Keep in mind that I didn't buy it from them directly. This is awesome, above and beyond the call of duty customer service!! If you want an airtight case for your iPhone to take underwater pictures you cannot go wrong with this product. This company absolutely stands behind there products. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? , March 5, 2015

    A Job Well Done

I was a bit (ok a lot) nervous to trust my $900 iPhone inside this case, but I took the plunge anyway. I was not at all disappointed with the performance of the case. It's very easy to use, and never fogged. They have an app that's pretty much the only thing you can use once the case is closed, which really could use some extended functionality, seeing as there's no choice. For example they make a port on the back for the "selfie" camera, but they don't give you an opportunity to switch to that camera. All in all the device was very solid, pretty large, and a bit heavy. This is two fold as it gives you piece of mind, but it's bulky to carry. You won't have to fear for your device, provided you follow the dead simple directions on how to use this, and make sure you test it first. To those diving in the caribbean, I would advise you purchase a red filter. 0 4/5 Taylor Trice - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) I tried several trial runs to insure it was working correctly with a tissue in it instead of my phone and all of them went good. I even kept it in a big bucket of water over night while it was raining and there was absolutely no water in it. While my snorkeling trip wasn't what I hoped it to be, the Watershot Pro worked great keeping my phone dry and taking pictures. I do suggest practicing taking pictures ahead of time to get a feel of what buttons do what because there was a few times I would accidentally push the wrong button. Great product, highly recommended

I bought this from Sport Chalet along with the red filter for a trip to Maui and was very satisfied. The options I had for underwater photography were: underwater camera: digital or disposable, underwater housing for regular camera, or housing for your smartphone. I went with a phone housing because of the convenience. Underwater cameras seem to be very blurry and disposable cameras sometimes don't develop at all. I have a digital camera but did not want to risk damaging it and it would be inconvenient to swim with. Although the go pro takes great photos, I like to be able to view my photos directly and see that my images are coming out. Although the go pro takes great photos, I like to be able to view my photos directly and see that my images are coming out. excellent pictures

0 5/5 Pila - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Watershot Underwater Housing for iPhone 5/5S, Black (Camera) I purchased this for one of my trips to Kauai and wanted underwater pictures from snorkeling and diving trips. There was not one of these for an IPhone 5 on the Island. It came overnight and I have captured some awesome shots of sea turtles, tropical fish and coral. It has worked as well as expected and people can't believe that my photos were taken with an I Phone. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? , December 19, 2013

... so more expensive than on Amazon but it worked awesome and was worth it

0 5/5 Olivia Vincente "Megan" (Chicago, IL USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Watershot Underwater Housing for iPhone 5/5S, White (Wireless Phone Accessory) Bought this while on vacation so more expensive than on Amazon but it worked awesome and was worth it. I used it diving to 75 ft, no problems. iPhone camera and video worked great with it, put the silica packet in and no problems with fogging. Used it 3 times over 3 days and worked amazing, I was really impressed, would recommend this to anyone with an i-phone who is considering an underwater camera. 0, November 11, 2014

Great protection and control for Canon G-16

Take Your Canon G16 without fear to places where you would ordinarily risk serious damage to your somewhat expensive camera. It's not just for use under water but would be great at that also. This housing gives you complete control of all the buttons on the back and top of your G16 unlike the limited control of Canon's own housing. You can even manipulate all menu settings with ease. I used this housing fishing 15 miles out in the Gulf with Captain Marvel out of Naples, FL. Also on several beaches in the Naples area and on a canoe trip through the mangrove estuary at Barefoot Beach Park in Bonita Springs. The photos are beautiful with no distortion or color shift from the housing and I could always select exactly the settings I wanted and even review and delete unwanted photos with ease all while paddling a canoe. With the housing on, the camera puts a fair amount of strain on your neck (you can use the strap that comes with the G16). So I strongly recommend you purchase a Leupold... 5/5 Jack McEwen (Havertown, PA USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Good so far. Just keep swimming?

0 4/5 Bob Smith "Bob" - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Fantasea Line FG16 Underwater Housing for Canon PowerShot G16 Digital Camera (Camera) Have owned this camera case for a few months now. Have taken it to 100ft or so. No leaks, seals are in good condition and the package comes with a spare seal and additional grease. It appears very similar to the OEM waterproof case, but it adds a few extra things (fiber optic flash cover, side cover lock, extra seal, flash lock, and hand strap). The electronic moisture sensor is gimmicky (if it's going off, the camera is ruined anyway).Other than a casting line that looks like a crack, the unit works well and I'm satisfied with it so far.I will update this review as I continue to use it and put it through it's paces.Next up: Using the case with an external wet fisheye lens and possibly an external strobe/fill light.Stay tuned! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? , November 13, 2014

    is easy to handle

0 5/5 Ana S. (Raleigh, NC United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Fantasea Line FG16 Underwater Housing for Canon PowerShot G16 Digital Camera (Camera) The case fits the camera perfectly, is easy to handle, has buttons for all the camera controls, unlike the Canon case, which does not. It is fairly easy to hold, and connected to external flash without any problems with optic cables working well. I used it for snorkeling and scuba diving, and the photos are amazing. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? , October 18, 2014
