Moment Obama saw him Die [PIC]

  • May 03, 2011 from engineer09(Engineer09) in World News
engineer09 Via a video camera fixed to the helmet of a U.S. Navy Seal, the leader of the free world saw the terror chief shot in the left eye. The Seal then carried out what is known in the military as a ‘double tap’ – shooting him again, probably in the chest, to make certain he was dead. The video footage, relayed to the White House by satellite is said to show one of his wives acting as a human shield to protect him as he blasted away with an AK47 assault rifle. She died, along with three other men, including one of Bin Laden’s sons. Within hours, the Al Qaeda leader’s body was buried at sea.

Classical Film Violence, Designing and Regulating Brutality in Hollywood Cinema, 1930-1968

Creator: Stephen Prince | Performing Arts - 2003-10-01

Not only is he shot in the head. but the bullet strike is visualized. The shot penetrates his helmet. and the viewer sees ... The camera angle and detailing of Johnny's face emphasize the ungainliness of death. with the awkward posture ...

About this book
Stephen Prince has written the first book to examine the interplay between the aesthetics and the censorship of violence in classic Hollywood films from 1930 to 1968, the era of the Production Code, when filmmakers were required to have their scripts approved before they could start production. He explains how Hollywood's filmmakers designed violence in response to the regulations of the Production Code and regional censors. Graphic violence in today's movies actually has its roots in these early films. Hollywood's filmmakers were drawn to violent scenes and "pushed the envelope" of what they could depict by manipulating the Production Code Administration (PCA).Prince shows that many choices about camera position, editing, and blocking of the action and sound were functional responses by filmmakers to regulatory constraints, necessary for approval from the PCA and then in surviving scrutiny by state and municipal censor boards. This book is the first stylistic history of American screen violence that is grounded in industry documentation. Using PCA files, Prince traces the negotiations over violence carried out by filmmakers and officials and shows how the outcome left its traces on picture and sound in the films.Almost everything revealed by this research is contrary to what most have believed about Hollywood and film violence. With chapters such as "Throwing the Extra Punch" and "Cruelty, Sadism, and the Horror Film," this book will become the defining work on classical film violence and its connection to the graphic mayhem of today's movies.

Dirty Jobs uses this where big cams dont go /great 2nd angle cam

Update 9-16-2010 This is no longer their top of the line cam - the new one is based on this camera but includes a GPS and tags your images with location. You'll need their viewer to see the map movement as the video plays.Update: 7-2010Tonights episode of Dirty Jobs showed this camera strapped to a head strap for the host, Mike Rowe, who was 408 feet above the cement floor decending & window cleaning in Hawaii. Troy chickened out on the first 100 feet so alot of the contour HD footage made it into the show. By the 300 foot balcony they got troy on the ropes but his hair got snagged in the safely line and had to get his second "shearing" on Dirty Jobs - it was also filmed on contour HD cams 300' above hawaii. The quality was as good as the cable company could deliver in their 6:1 re-compression of HD. Great point of view camera

I bought this camera primarily to be used for motorsports (autocross, track days, time attack, etc.) but took it on my recent ski trip to Breckenridge, Colorado. I'll update the review once motorsport season comes around. With the GoPro HD and ContourHD 1080p coming out around he same time for the same price point I did a lot of research on both. I was already biased against the GoPro having owned the original Hero Cam Wide.Mounting--------The quick sliding of the GoPro is pretty simple, but the parts that you have to screw and unscrew are difficult. The screws were hard to tighten and it's too easy to lose the screw and/or nut. I also managed to break one of the mounts by dropping it - a bit too easy to break in my opinion. Getting the correct angle by stringing the screw mounts together was a challenge as well.I like the ContourHD mount a lot more. It just slides on and off and locks into place. While skiing, I was able to slide it off and... 4/5 PR (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews This review is from: ContourHD 1080p Helmet Camera (Camera) I bought this camera primarily to be used for motorsports (autocross, track days, time attack, etc.) but took it on my recent ski trip to Breckenridge, Colorado. Great Camera for night skating

Customer Video Review Length:: 1:44 MinsThis is a video of a couple of laps around the John Rose Oval shot at 10 PM under artificial lighting. I thought that the images were good with expected wide angle distortion.I purchased this camera to record my speed skating at the John Rose Oval in Roseville, Minnesota. Most of my skating sessions are from 9:20 to 10:25 PM. The lighting is similar to a baseball or football field. I had some concerns about reviews that said that this camera was not that good in low light conditions but the images looked good to me.In terms of ease of use, I don't think you can really beat this camera. The instruction manual is microscopic and you are up to speed on the available controls within a very short period of time. One of the frequent criticisms of the camera is wind noise coming through in the video. It turns out that you can preset the sound level with the software that comes with the camera as a download off the MicroSD card... 5/5 George Dawson (St. Paul, MN USA) - See all my reviews, December 5, 2009

Cheap camera, so expect to get what you pay for. Not waterproof.

I ordered this camera to place out at the end of my driveway under a light pole. I didn't want one that had the integrated IR lamps since the motion capture function on the DVR picks up nothing but bugs flying in front of the camera that are interested in the IR lamps. This is a big problem in Florida. This camera fit the bill for my needs. The item says it is weatherproof. I mounted it on an outdoor electrical box that is mounted on a 15 foot metal conduit that is pressed into the ground about 4 feet, which is easy to do in the Florida sand. The camera worked great for a few weeks, and then after the first good rain of our rainy season the camera started to fog up. The next day it rained some more, and this time there was visible water in the camera picture, and upon inspection in the front section in the camera against the lens window. This caused it to stop working. Now since I had my mount set up for this particular camera, I just went and ordered... 4/5 DIAB "DIABox" (Brooksville, FL United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Amazing cameras

I bought 2 of these to replace the standard cameras that came with my CCTV system. The field of view on these is almost triple what I could see with the default cameras. The colors are sharp and it performs beautifully in low light (much better than the so-called "night-vision" cameras that came with my system). These made the difference in turning my CCTV system from just a toy to a useful security and monitoring system. With just 2 of these under the front eaves of my house I can view the front door, entire front yard, and driveway. 5/5 KDE - See all my reviews This review is from: VideoSecu Indoor Outdoor Bullet Security Camera Built-in Sony CCD Weatherproof 3.6mm Wide View Angle Lens Camera for CCTV DVR Home Surveillance System 1CN (Electronics) I bought 2 of these to replace the standard cameras that came with my CCTV system. Great camera, great price, near HD video.

Pros:Comes with mounting options that can be customized to work for just about any applicationComes with 2 GB SD cardVery well build, doesn't feel cheap at allRotating lens to accommodated angles when mountedNo external recording device neededCons:Near HD video, I wouldn't call it HD quality even though the video dimensions are HD, but outstanding for a small wearable camera*Update: The sound is pretty bad if you are going very fast. The mic location could be better because there is an electronic sounds that dominates the audio at high speeds.Review:I bought this camera to help make videos of my dad's Camero and Ducati for his father's day present, mostly just to get another angle. Nice with limitations...

I own both the VIO POV.1 and the ContourHD. I must preface this by saying I use these cameras in a unique application, that being on a military helicopter. Both have their pro's and con's but since we are talking about the ContourHD, I will offer this:Pro's:Resolution, it is HD of course. It does fish eye a bit more than I would like.All-in-one: No separate components..everything is literally right in your hand. (can be a draw back) No wires....Laser for making sure the camera is mounted properly.USB Chargeable battery with decent life.30 minutes of HD per gig..comes with a 2 gig card. A larger card really is needed.PRICE!! Excellent.Cons:Not anything close to Mil-Spec like the POV.1 (That thing was built for the military)On/Off switch can slide back and you would never know it. Fixed in later serial numbers.Mounting options are minimal.No... 3/5 T. Gagnon "TG" (Tucson AZ) - See all my reviews, July 21, 2009

    Contour HD

I finally received the camera from VholdR. So far it's lived up to my expectations. The video that I saw coming from it was super clear and the color looks amazing. It came with its own software that also made everything easier. The 135 degree field of view is better than the fish eye look that you get with some other cameras. Good price for a compact HD camera. 5/5 J. Z. Clark (Las Colinas, CA) - See all my reviews, April 27, 2009

    First impressions -

First, I'd like to add some specs. The total weight of the camera with battery and base camcorder mount is ~137g or 4.8oz. For some reason, none of the online info anywhere on the web tells you how much the battery or accessories weigh. I got this with the idea of mounting it on a radio controlled airplane, so weight is important. This should work out just fine.I was happy to find out that it came with a second battery. In general, it is about what I expected. It comes with a micro-USB cable and seems to charge from an iphone charger just fine. Setting the time on the camera was a bit strange. There is documentation on the website on editing a text file containing a specially formatted date string. You copy this to the micro-sd card and then turn on the camera to set it. Normally, the date wouldn't matter, but the date stamp is embedded in any picture or video, so you'll want to do this. I guess that's what you get when you only have a single button available to... 4/5 Steven Bakke - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Battery issues. Returned it.

The owners manual says battery life should be about 90 mnutes each battery. The BulletHD web site says it should be about 115 minutes. I bought this for a helmet CAM for caving. I took it in 1 cave and got 19 minutes 26 seconds and battery was gone. Didn't bring other battery figuring 90 minutes would be about what I want to edit down. When I tested other battery it lasted about the same after a fresh charge. If you let it sit 3 days after a charge it was totally dead. Never had a camera battery with that issue. One button isn't the easiest to use. The mount took 2 hands w/o gloves to undo and with-out looking can't tell if camera is on or not. 2nd time I just asked someone if the light was flashing red. Company was great that took return back. I got a sports-vue 360HD. its been in a cave and works good. Even images are better. Caves are total dark with just what lights you bring in. shuts off after 1 second

The instructions recommend that you charge the battery for 10 hours prior to first use. I did this and went out to give the camera a try. It would record for 1 second and then shut off. I thought the battery might be defective. Fortunately, they provide an extra battery. I charged that one up and went out and gave the camera a try again. Once again, it shut off after 1-5 seconds of recording. Presently, I'm trying to find a customer service contact at Fujita. They're on youtube and they have a website, but I haven't found anyway to contact them. If I get some help with the product, I'll return and update my review. Right now, the camera is essentially worthless. 1/5 Jeff - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Good, but not great... Get something else.

The Archos Helmet Camcorder is good in the sense that it's extremely easy to use and setup. However, the lack of picture quality is enough for me to start looking for another bullet camera to replace the Archos. Here are the three things that rock with the Archos bullet cam...1) Easy to setup... You take your Archos Helmet Camcorder and plug it directly into your Archos recording device, and you're good to go.2) The Archos Helmet Camcorder is powered by the Archos recording device, (Archos 604 for example). For those of you that have never owned or have seen the other bullet cam systems, most of them require a separate power supply to power both the camcorder and the microphone. The Archos uses the battery power of the Archos 604 to power both the camcorder and the microphone.3) Control of record start and record stop are at your fingertips. Ok for a street bicycle, but no way would I use this off road!

The camera seemed to work ok and the picture looked good. I was just hopping something made to mount on a helmet would be much more durable. Sound was low and hard to hear. After reading the instructions I was afraid to use this on my dirt bike. It is not water resistant and it also said not to use in a dust or sand environment. Also the camera attaches to the Archos similar to how the docking station does. It just seems way to weak and easy to break. The mount strap might work ok for a bicycle helmet, but will not work at all for a motorcycle. If you plan to ride a bicycle on the road, this might be ok, but for a dirt bike, forget it! I ended up returning it because I do not think this would be suitable for a motorcycle. Chad 2/5 Chad Hucko (O'Fallon, MO USA) - See all my reviews, October 14, 2007

    Not very useful

I love Archo products. I have had no problem using them. The quality has been good and I find them very easy to understand. Except for this one. I have yet to be able to create a useful video from it. In dim light it is useless. In bright light it is merely fair. The microphone's range is minimal. The DSR-100 3G, the recorder is difficult to operate, the video format (3gp) is not user friendly if you want to put your video on a CD & give it to someone to play on their computer.3gp is a ipod format & will not work with many pc programs. Nice idea but flawed by design

This camera suffers from some flaws which have rendered it unfit for purpose for me. The first being that the 1080p picture wasn't as in focus as other, singificantly lower budget 1080p helmet and dash cameras I've used. The video stabalisation feature doesn't seem to work very well at all. Don't expect it to remove a great deal of shake and expect it to do this at the expanse of the smooth flow of the video recorded (i.e. video will look jerky as if frames are being dropped or if you'd converted the frame rate on a pc or something like that). These points were enough to cause a dissapointment. However the camera saves video to a new file every 5 mins. This wouldn't be a problem for me except that there is a 3 second gap between saving one file and starting the next. This may not sound like much but you're losing over 30 seconds of an hour recording - which for helmet cam application is simply unacceptable. I bought this camera to replace a cheap ebay camera which also loses 3 seconds... 2/5 Robert J. Frost "frosty" (York, UK) - See all my reviews, October 8, 2012

    Better than contour and GoPro

1st off, after having owned the contour and GoPro, I considered those 2 cameras to be the best professional HD helmet cameras on the market. The GoPro is bulky, but gives great video. The contour wasn't waterproof and for several applications I needed a waterproof, professional HD camera. So I was on the search a few months ago. I came across the BulletHD and like all other cameras, it sounded too good to be true. Not so. After I ordered the BulletHD Pro 1080, I was completely surprised how small it was. Smaller than the contour and way smaller than the ugly GoPro. The Bullethd unit is all aluminum and is very tough. It has just about every possible mounting solution available on their website and can mount to literally anything. There is no buying a waterproof housing for the unit. It is waterproof to 33 ft for snorkeling and wake boarding. It also has a built in stabilizer which no other helmet camera offers. I was able to strap it to my double horse RC helicopter and got some... 5/5 Damagecontrol - See all my reviews This review is from: BulletHD Waterproof 12.0 MP 720p HD Helmet Camera with Fisheye Lens - Includes all Accessories (Electronics) 1st off, after having owned the contour and GoPro, I considered those 2 cameras to be the best professional HD helmet cameras on the market. Works, but with some hitches

This camera functions fine as a waterproof camera. The problem is that it does not record audio very well. I tested it by speaking directly into the camera, both front and rear facing, and the audio was barely audible when played back. If you don't want audio, then buy this, but what is the fun of recording yourself going through class 4 rapids when you can't hear your reactions? 2/5 Bobby Lowery (WOODBRIDGE, VA, US) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER!

I purchased this product as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend and didn't find out until it was opened that it wasn't what I was expecting. I immediately emailed Adrenaline Systems and did not receive a response. I then messaged through Amazon and managed to get a response, but unfortunately it didn't answer any of my simple questions and appeared to be a canned reply in broken English. I wrote back again restating the same questions in easy to read bullet points. One of the questions being to access their return policy, which I never was given or able to find on their website. They also do not list a phone number or physical address to contact them. However, they did offer store credit if I wanted to return the item, but have ZERO confidence in any of their products or service to exchange. If you are looking for a camera that actually RECORDS video, this is not the item for you. It has to be plugged into a camcorder or DVR (which is not included). My bad for not researching... 1/5 JS - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Horrible support for their products

Adrenaline Camera does not support their products at all! I returned a camera to them, per their instructions, and they simply do not reply to my emails now! I have delivery confirmation that says they received it, yet nothing! And the only way to contact these people is via email, which they don't reply to.DO NOT BUY THESE PRODUCTS! 1/5 M. no DVR

The 580 ExView Camera is a nice idea if you want to go out and record on the fly. But, if you look at the ads that they have, on the helmet/handlebar, pivot, or the headstrap, there were no wires on the camera. Honestly, you will need a camcorder with AV inputs which as you may not know are not available on any of the new camcorders. finding the camcorder is another expense. So, in other words, the advertisement is incorrect and inaccurate. Check out the "camera" coz it has wires and they are not detachable.Otherwise a good camera to have. Send me an email and let me know if you are interested i the camera and it's capabilities. 2/5 Jamie Evora (PINOLE, CA, US) - See all my reviews This review is from: Sony 580 Exview HAD CCD Helmet Camera V 2.0 Full Kit (Sports) The 580 ExView Camera is a nice idea if you want to go out and record on the fly.
